Dont believe me then try ti yourself! Expect to rage and also be scared as the screen gets ever darker around you each time you die. Yet feel the relief when you fight a boss.. Simple, quick, fun and the added assist mode for those that maybe don't have that much pacience make the game a really good experience. Maybe a bit too short and too expensive for what it is but great game no matter what.. The game is fun, challenging, and had me rage a few times in my playtime.However, I can't recommend it with the annoying buzzing sound when you're on your last life. I would rather have some intense music (maybe the title screen music??) than anything, worst of all, the buzzing sound isn't even music, it is effect sounds. Sure you can turn it off, but in that type of game you have to listen to sound queues from monsters (such as an annoying rushing mob) and it is a detrament to the playthrough. It honestly hindered my gameplay because of how obnoxious the game would become, and if you had to travel long distances it became REALLY bad. Fix this issue and I can surely recommend itEdit) The devs have fixed the constant sound issue and the game has become playable again. Thank you. This game is HORRIFYING. The mood and atmosphere have me on the edge of my seat, the approach to permadeath is very interesting, the mechanics are very simple and tight, and the way the hive changes as you play is really cool. Boss battles have me ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ my pants, especially after a few shots on them, the paranoia effects in the game kick in. I've only managed to get two crystals home so far, but dang am i having fun. Good stuff.. A small roguelike that gets harder as you progress. Minimalistic artstyle similar to Downwell(albeit with only 4 palettes) and tense music contribute to the OVERWHELMing atmosphere of being surrounded by aliens on an alien world.The game is very hard, and while it does adhere to the "horror", having to do the same thing over and over can get tedious so don't hesitate to try the assist options. Some things are definitely oldschool bs like camera not panning to the side when entering a room, aliens leaping at you off the screen(especially if you get hit once or twice which makes the visible area very small). The bosses will be hard at first, but only one boss made me try more than 5 times.. I was led to believe that this was a action horror game with random elements, but some of these elements, like foliage that obscures one shot enemies, make it more akin to a trial and error kaizo map.. Instant buy because I'm working on a very similar game. Three awful problems that would have to be fixed before I'd recommend:1) In the game im working on and what you have, you can move the camera slightly in the direction you are aiming to look around. But in this game, at the end of screens, the camera locks. And 90% of my deaths are from the camera locking and me not being able to use the camera to properly look around. If there is an easy fix to get that camera lock out of the game I would advise it. I think a lot of people would have a better first impression if you didn't get your camera control yanked away from you so much and could freely look around at all times.2) The last life ear♥♥♥♥♥♥is really annoying. Not scary. It works damn well when you have one life left and art fighting a boss. Because you have a short term goal and get the sound away after the boss dies. But anywhere else in the game it's just a drag on the experience. If outside the boss area you played something less distracting, something like the gun's low ammo beeping; I'm sure there wouldn't be so much complaining about it.3) Please for the love of the players. Put a reset button in. It's annoying to have to continue a game you don't want to and kill yourself. Minus these three things; It's a really solid game small game. I love the idea of it; especially how enemies get stronger and scarier the longer the game goes on. I'd love to see an expanded version of this idea (with some actual art team behind it for the visual, I'm really not a fan of the pixel). The framework for the idea is awesome.The controls are really damn tight and feel fantastic. Unfortunatly the camera does bog down a full praise of it.If those 3 problems get fixed I'd happily recommend this game :)
